Frequently asked questions
Straight answers for HR teams, teachers, programme officers and procurement — on booking, logistics, programmes and paperwork.
Booking & quotations
How much does a coffee workshop cost in Hong Kong?
There is no single list price — cost depends on group size, programme, venue and delivery language. Tell us the details through our quote form and a reviewed quotation reaches your work inbox within 30 minutes during office hours. NGO, school and government rates are subsidised below our corporate rate.
How far in advance should we book?
Two to three weeks is comfortable for a standard workshop. Large events (60+ participants), certification cohorts and December dates should be booked four to six weeks ahead.
Do you issue formal quotations and invoices for procurement?
Yes. Every engagement is quoted and invoiced formally, and we are happy to complete supplier onboarding or vendor forms your procurement team requires.
Do you run evenings, weekends and public holidays?
Yes — out-of-hours delivery is available and priced transparently in your quotation. December and weekend dates book out first, so allow four to six weeks for those.
Can we reschedule or cancel after confirming?
One free reschedule with seven or more working days’ notice. Inside seven days we do our best to move the date, charging only costs already committed (perishables, hired equipment) — always itemised, never a flat penalty. Full terms appear on your formal quotation.
Logistics & venues
Can you run the workshop at our venue?
Yes. We bring espresso machines, grinders, milk and everything else. On-site delivery carries a modest transport and setup charge, shown in your quote. We need a table area, access to power and a water source nearby.
Which areas of Hong Kong do you serve?
All of Hong Kong — Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the New Territories and the outlying islands. Our campus is in Kwai Chung, and our on-site record runs from Central bank floors to Yuen Long youth centres and a working fire station in Tsim Sha Tsui.
What does our venue need to provide for an on-site session?
Table space for the stations, standard 13A power sockets and a water point nearby. We bring the machines, grinders, milk and every consumable, and handle setup and clear-down; for larger events we confirm the electrical plan with your venue in advance.
What is the minimum and maximum group size?
No hard minimum group size, though a minimum engagement value applies to very small groups — the quote tool shows it before you commit to anything. At the other end we have run 120 participants in a single sitting, using rotating stations and six trainers.
What happens under a typhoon or black rainstorm signal?
If a T8+ signal or black rainstorm warning is in force within three hours of your session, the event moves to a new date at no charge, with priority rebooking. We confirm the arrangement with you the moment the Observatory signal is announced.
Programmes & certificates
Do you teach in English?
Yes — Cantonese, English and Putonghua, all by the same accredited trainer team. English delivery carries a small uplift, shown in your quote. We have delivered English sessions for ERM, ExxonMobil, L’Oréal and BlackRock.
Do participants receive a certificate?
Every participant receives a certificate of participation. For accredited routes we run SCA, City & Guilds, TQUK and LAGS certification with formal examination — we are Hong Kong’s only SCA Premier Training Campus.
Can this run as a recurring programme rather than a one-off?
Yes — recurring programmes are a large part of our work: 27 sessions in one year for Kwun Tong Red Cross, a nine-session City & Guilds cohort for SARDA, and 41 bookings across six years with Buddhist Po Kwong School. Programme rates apply from three sessions.
Procurement & ESG
Why is your quotation often higher than other providers?
Because of what it includes. Live events surprise you — venues change, power falls short, headcounts move — and six years across 274 organisations means we have handled it all before, calmly. Both founders hold near-complete coffee-education credentials with operations in Hong Kong and Tokyo, and we deliver in Cantonese, English, Putonghua — and Japanese when needed — with paperwork to full tender standard. NGO, school and government rates stay subsidised below corporate. Cheapest and safest are rarely the same quote.
Is booking you eligible for ESG or CSR reporting?
Tasse Coffee is a government-recognised social enterprise, and many clients include our engagements in their CSR and ESG reporting. Your booking supports barista training for elderly, SEN, visually impaired and ethnic-minority learners, and we can provide a social impact statement for your reporting.
Can you provide photos and materials for our internal comms or reporting?
Yes — event photography for your internal use is included as standard, and as a government-recognised social enterprise we can provide a social-impact statement to support CSR and ESG reporting.
Do you carry insurance for on-site events?
Yes — we work regularly on hotel, government and school premises and can provide the insurance and vendor documentation your venue or procurement team requires as part of confirmation.
What are the payment terms?
Formal quotation first, invoice on confirmation. Organisational clients can arrange invoice settlement, and we have completed procurement flows with government departments, universities and listed companies.
